megalomaniac
Delusions of grandeur
A megalomaniac is someone with delusions of grandeur—an obsessive belief in their own power, importance, or ability.
The term applies both clinically to a psychological condition and loosely to anyone with outsized ambitions or an inflated sense of self: Every dictator is a megalomaniac.
As an adjective, megalomaniac describes such tendencies: megalomaniac fantasies of world domination.
