megaton
Bomb blast measure
A megaton is a unit of explosive force equivalent to one million tons of TNT, used to measure nuclear weapon yields: a twenty-megaton warhead.
The term appears in discussions of nuclear arsenals and Cold War history.
Informally, megaton can describe anything enormously powerful or impactful: a megaton of homework.
