Mary Tudor
English Catholic monarch
Mary Tudor refers to two notable English royals.
The better known is Mary I (1516–1553), daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, who as queen restored Catholicism and burned nearly 300 Protestants, earning the epithet "Bloody Mary." The other Mary Tudor (1496–1533) was Henry VIII's younger sister, briefly Queen of France through marriage to Louis XII.
