Charles II
Merry England's king
Charles II was king of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1660 to 1685, restored to the throne after the English Civil War and Cromwell's Commonwealth.
His reign, called the Restoration, saw the reopening of theaters, looser morals after Puritan austerity, and the Great Fire of London.
