Line of Control
Military demarcation zone
The Line of Control is the de facto border dividing the disputed Kashmir region between India and Pakistan.
Established after the 1947 war and modified following the 1971 conflict, it is not a legally recognized international boundary but a ceasefire line: Tensions along the Line of Control have flared periodically since partition.
Often abbreviated LOC.
