UN resolution
International body's decision
A UN resolution is a formal decision or statement adopted by a body of the United Nations, typically the General Assembly or Security Council.
General Assembly resolutions express the collective position of member states but aren't legally binding.
Security Council resolutions carry more weight—those passed under Chapter VII of the UN Charter can authorize sanctions or military action: The Security Council passed a resolution condemning the invasion.
