Compressed picture format
JPEG, an acronym for Joint Photographic Experts Group, is a file format for compressing images.
A JPEG is an image stored in that format, typically with a file extension of .jpg.
JPEGs are the most common format for digital photography and are also used on the internet, where smaller file sizes are an advantage.
