recompression
Restoring ambient pressure
Recompression is the act of compressing something again.
In diving medicine, recompression treats decompression sickness by returning a diver to higher pressure in a hyperbaric chamber, allowing nitrogen bubbles in the blood to dissolve safely.
In computing, recompression means compressing a file that was previously compressed, often to reduce size further or change formats.
