PNGs
Transparent image files
PNGs are image files in Portable Network Graphics format, commonly used for web graphics and digital images.
The format supports transparency and lossless compression, making it ideal for logos, icons, and images with sharp edges or text.
Pronounced either as the letters P-N-G or as ping.
In internet slang, PNG sometimes means "persona non grata"—an unwelcome person.
