Salish refers to a family of Indigenous languages spoken across the Pacific Northwest, from British Columbia through Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.

The term also designates the peoples who speak these languages.

Coast Salish and Interior Salish are the two main branches.

The Salish Sea was named to honor the region's Indigenous inhabitants.
