George Washington Bridge

Manhattan-Jersey span

The George Washington Bridge is a double-decked suspension bridge spanning the Hudson River between New York City and New Jersey.

Opened in 1931, it connects Manhattan's Washington Heights to Fort Lee and remains one of the world's busiest bridges: Traffic on the GW was brutal this morning.

Often shortened to GW Bridge or simply the GW.
