Danish pastry
Laminated sweet roll
A Danish pastry is a layered, butter-rich pastry made from laminated dough, typically topped or filled with fruit, custard, cheese, or icing.
Often shortened to Danish: I grabbed a Danish and coffee on my way to work.
The pastry originated in Denmark and Austria, where similar techniques developed in the 19th century.
