DNA viruses
Deoxyribonucleic acid pathogens
DNA viruses are viruses whose genetic material is DNA rather than RNA.
They replicate by hijacking host cell machinery to copy their DNA and produce viral proteins.
Examples include herpesviruses, poxviruses, and papillomaviruses.
DNA viruses tend to be more genetically stable than RNA viruses, mutating less rapidly.
