Curzon

British India administrator

Curzon is a surname of Norman origin, most famously associated with George Curzon, 1st Marquess Curzon of Kedleston, who served as Viceroy of India from 1899 to 1905.

The Curzon Line, proposed in 1919 as a demarcation between Poland and Soviet Russia, bears his name.

In contemporary use, Curzon appears as a cinema chain in the UK known for arthouse and independent films.

The Curzon Line became relevant again during postwar border negotiations.
