Cronus

Scythe-wielding Titan

Cronus is a Titan in Greek mythology, the youngest son of Uranus (Sky) and Gaia (Earth), who castrated his father and ruled during the mythical Golden Age.

He notoriously swallowed each of his children at birth to prevent a prophecy that one would overthrow him, but his wife Rhea hid the infant Zeus, who eventually forced Cronus to disgorge his siblings and led the Olympians to victory over the Titans.

The Romans identified Cronus with Saturn.
