Creeks

Southeastern indigenous nation

In North America, creeks are small freshwater streams, often narrower and shallower than rivers, and may dry up seasonally.

In the British Isles, creeks are tidal inlets, typically found in estuaries or coastal areas, where saltwater flows in and out with the tides.

Creeks can host unique ecosystems, such as brackish marshes in tidal creeks or riffle zones in freshwater ones.

The creek behind the house dried up by late summer.
