Bakewell

Jam-filled English tart

Bakewell is a market town in Derbyshire, England, in the Peak District.

It lends its name to the Bakewell tart—a pastry with jam and frangipane filling—and the related Bakewell pudding, which locals insist is the original and superior version.

We stopped in Bakewell for lunch and bought a pudding from the Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop.
