Matlock
English Peak town
Matlock is a long-running American television series (1986–1995) featuring Andy Griffith as a folksy Atlanta defense attorney who always uncovers the real killer.
The name has become shorthand for an elderly person's entertainment preferences: My dad watches nothing but Matlock and the Weather Channel.
To pull a Matlock is to use charm and apparent simplicity to win an argument.
