Windermere

Cumbria's largest lake

Windermere is the largest natural lake in England, located in the Lake District of Cumbria.

The name also refers to the town on its eastern shore.

We spent the weekend sailing on Windermere.

The lake has long attracted tourists and inspired writers, including Beatrix Potter, who lived nearby.
