Asiatic

From the East

Asiatic means of or relating to Asia or its peoples.

The word was once standard but has largely been replaced by Asian, which is now preferred when referring to people.

Asiatic persists in certain fixed terms—Asiatic cholera, Asiatic lion—and in historical or scientific contexts.

When applied to people today, it often sounds dated or offensive.
