Asian people
Continent's diverse inhabitants
Asian people are those whose ancestry traces to Asia, the world's largest and most populous continent.
The term encompasses enormous diversity—from East Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) to South Asians (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi) to Southeast Asians and others.
In American usage, Asian often defaults to East Asian, while British usage more commonly includes South Asians.
Asian people make up over 60% of the world's population.
