Arkansas
Diamond-mining Southern state
Arkansas is a state in the south-central United States, bordered by Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma.
The name comes from a French rendering of a Quapaw word.
Despite sharing a root with Kansas, Arkansas ends with an "aw" sound by state law: We're driving through Arkansas on our way to Texas.
