West Virginia

Charleston's home state

West Virginia is a state in the eastern United States, formed when its western counties refused to secede with Virginia during the Civil War.

The Mountain State is known for rugged Appalachian terrain, coal mining, and some of the highest poverty rates in the nation.

My family's been in West Virginia for generations.
