A ridge walk is a hike along the crest of a mountain ridge, following the high ground between slopes that fall away on either side.
The terrain typically offers panoramic views but may involve exposure to wind and steep drop-offs: The ridge walk along the Continental Divide took most of the day.
Also called a ridgeline hike.
