AB

Rare blood group

AB is the rarest of the four main blood types in the ABO system, present in only about 4% of the population.

People with AB blood have both A and B antigens on their red blood cells.

AB positive individuals are "universal recipients"—they can receive blood from any type.

As an abbreviation, AB appears in various contexts: able-bodied seaman, Alberta (postal code), or bachelor of arts (from Latin *artium baccalaureus*).
