codominance
Both alleles manifest
Codominance is a genetic pattern where both alleles of a gene are fully expressed in a heterozygote, rather than one masking the other.
Neither is dominant or recessive—both contribute visibly to the phenotype.
The classic example is AB blood type, where both A and B antigens appear on red blood cells.
Codominance differs from incomplete dominance, where alleles blend into an intermediate form.
