zoomie

Flyboy in uniform

Zoomie has two distinct informal uses.

In military slang, a zoomie is a member of the Air Force, especially a cadet or graduate of the Air Force Academy—someone who zooms through the sky.

In pet culture, zoomies refers to sudden bursts of frantic running, typically by dogs or cats: The puppy got the zoomies after his bath.
