Nikkei
Japanese market measure
Nikkei refers to people of Japanese descent living outside Japan, particularly emigrants and their descendants.
The term encompasses Japanese communities in Brazil, Peru, the United States, and elsewhere: Nikkei communities in California date back over a century.
Nikkei also names the Nikkei 225, Japan's primary stock market index, often shortened to the Nikkei: The Nikkei fell sharply on trade concerns.
