wyverns

Winged serpents, legless forelegs

Wyverns is the plural of wyvern, a dragon-like creature from European heraldry and legend.

Unlike traditional dragons, wyverns have only two legs rather than four, with their front limbs forming wings.

They appear frequently in fantasy literature, video games, and coat of arms designs: The wyverns circled overhead before diving toward the castle.
