woodfiber

Paper's raw material

Woodfiber is plant material processed into fibrous form, used in papermaking, insulation, composite building materials, and garden mulch.

The term appears as one word, two words (wood fiber), or hyphenated, with no difference in meaning: woodfiber insulation, wood fiber board.

The fibers come from mechanically or chemically breaking down wood pulp.
