wise man
Sought for counsel
A wise man possesses deep understanding, good judgment, and the ability to apply knowledge thoughtfully.
The term often carries traditional or slightly archaic overtones: The wise man built his house upon the rock.
In religious contexts, the wise men (or Magi) are the visitors who brought gifts to the infant Jesus.
A wise man may also be a village elder or sage consulted for guidance.
