Thales

Water is everything

Thales was an ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician from Miletus, active around 600 BCE, traditionally considered the first Western philosopher.

He sought natural rather than mythological explanations for phenomena, reportedly predicting a solar eclipse and proposing that water was the fundamental substance of all things.

Thales proved that a circle is bisected by its diameter.
