welding rods
Fusible filler sticks
Welding rods are metal sticks used as filler material in welding, melting into the joint to bond metal pieces together.
Different rod compositions suit different metals and applications—steel rods for steel, aluminum for aluminum.
The rod may be coated with flux that burns off during welding to shield the molten metal from contamination.
Also called welding electrodes or filler rods.
