webtoons
Scrolling online comics
Webtoons are digital comics designed for reading on smartphones and computers, typically published in long vertical strips that readers scroll through rather than page through.
The format originated in South Korea and has spread globally through platforms like LINE Webtoon and Tapas.
I've been binge-reading webtoons all weekend.
The term can refer to the format, individual comics, or the platforms hosting them.
