webspeak
Internet slang vocabulary
Webspeak is the informal language, slang, and conventions that developed with internet communication.
It includes abbreviations (lol, brb, omg), emoticons, intentional misspellings, and casual grammar that would be out of place in formal writing: Her emails are full of webspeak—I can barely understand them.
The term often carries a slightly dismissive tone, suggesting the language is frivolous or hard to decode.
