wah pedal
Funky tone controller
A wah pedal is a foot-operated effects device for electric guitar that produces a distinctive vowel-like tone by sweeping through frequencies as the player rocks it back and forth.
The name imitates the sound it makes—a crying "wah-wah" effect heard prominently in funk, rock, and blues: He kicked in the wah pedal for the solo.
