touch sensitivity
Feeling pressure differences
Touch sensitivity is the degree to which a surface or device responds to physical contact.
In music, keyboards with touch sensitivity produce louder sounds when keys are struck harder, mimicking acoustic piano dynamics.
In electronics, it describes how screens or trackpads detect and respond to finger pressure: Adjust the touch sensitivity if the screen isn't registering your taps.
The term also applies to physical conditions where skin becomes unusually reactive to contact.
