voicelessness
Inability to speak
Voicelessness is the state of having no voice—literally unable to speak, or figuratively lacking power to express oneself or be heard.
It often describes marginalized groups denied representation: the voicelessness of the poor in political debates.
In phonetics, voicelessness refers to consonants produced without vocal cord vibration, like /p/ or /s/.
