invisible man
Overlooked male figure
An invisible man is someone who cannot be seen, whether through supernatural means, scientific technology, or simply being overlooked by society.
The phrase often describes people who feel ignored or marginalized: As a janitor, he felt like an invisible man—nobody noticed him.
Science fiction uses the concept for characters rendered literally transparent. (Capitalized Invisible Man refers to the literary works.)
