Stem's tiny lid
A valve cap is the small threaded cover that screws onto the stem of a tire valve, protecting it from dirt, moisture, and damage.
Valve caps are typically plastic or metal and help maintain a tight seal: I lost a valve cap and now the tire keeps losing air.
The term applies to caps on bicycle, car, and other pneumatic tires.
