inflate
Make it swell
To inflate is to fill with air or gas, expanding something from a compressed or flat state: inflate a balloon, inflate a tire.
The opposite is deflate.
Figuratively, to inflate is to increase artificially or exaggerate: inflate prices, inflate one's ego, inflated expectations.
Inflation in economics refers to the general rise in prices over time.
