valve stem
Air intake tube
A valve stem is the narrow cylindrical part of a valve that protrudes through the wheel rim, allowing air to be added or released from a tire.
Most have a threaded cap to keep out dirt: Check the valve stem before inflating.
Valve stems also appear in engine valves and other pneumatic or hydraulic systems, connecting the valve head to its actuating mechanism.
