utilization
Making practical use
Utilization is the act of putting something to use, or the degree to which something is used.
The word appears frequently in bureaucratic and technical contexts: hospital bed utilization, CPU utilization, resource utilization.
In most cases, the simpler word "use" works just as well: utilization of company vehicles could simply be use of company vehicles.
The longer form persists in formal reports and metrics.
