undercarriages
Frames beneath vehicles
Undercarriages is the plural of undercarriage—the structural framework beneath a vehicle.
For aircraft, the undercarriage is the landing gear: wheels, struts, and related components that support the plane on the ground.
For cars and trucks, it's the chassis and suspension system underneath: Road salt corrodes undercarriages.
The word sometimes refers humorously to the lower body of a person or animal.
