fuselages
Aircraft main structures
Fuselages is the plural of fuselage, the main body of an aircraft—the central structure to which wings, tail, and landing gear attach.
Passengers and cargo occupy the fuselage.
The word comes from French for "spindle-shaped," describing the tapered cylindrical form: The fuselages of the two planes were nearly identical in length.
