main gear
Primary aircraft wheels
Main gear refers to the principal landing gear of an aircraft—the large wheels and supporting struts located under the wings or fuselage that bear most of the plane's weight during takeoff, landing, and ground operations.
Most aircraft have two main gear assemblies plus a smaller nose gear or tail wheel for steering and balance.
