tuktuk

Three-wheeled Asian taxi

A tuktuk is a small three-wheeled motorized vehicle used as a taxi, common throughout South and Southeast Asia.

The name imitates the sputtering sound of its engine.

Tuktuks weave through congested streets where cars can't easily navigate: We hired a tuktuk to get to the temple.

Also spelled tuk-tuk.
