glissando
Consecutive note sweep
A glissando is a rapid slide through a series of adjacent notes, producing a smooth, sweeping sound.
On a piano, it's the effect of dragging a finger across the keys; on a trombone, it's the continuous slide between pitches.
The term comes from French *glisser*, to slide.
The harpist ended the piece with a dramatic glissando.
