tree kangaroo

Climbing pouch mammal

A tree kangaroo is any of several species of kangaroo adapted to life in trees, found in the rainforests of New Guinea and northeastern Australia.

Unlike their ground-dwelling relatives, tree kangaroos have shorter hind legs, stronger forelimbs, and curved claws for gripping branches.

They move awkwardly on the ground but climb with ease.
