transsexuals
Sex identity changers
Transsexuals are people whose gender identity differs from the sex assigned at birth, particularly those who pursue medical transition through hormones or surgery.
The term was standard in medical and legal contexts through the late twentieth century but has been largely displaced by transgender, which many consider more inclusive.
Some people still identify as transsexual to emphasize a medical transition: She's been a transsexual since her surgery in the nineties.
